The Blind Owl novel is Sadegh Hedayat’s masterpiece and a major literary work of the 20th century of Iran. Hedayat is considered one of the fathers of modern Iranian fiction. The theme of most of his stories is thinking about death, criticism of an authoritarian society, and denial of superstition. The images, descriptions, characters, and figures in his stories are often national.
He is one of the first writers banned from writing in the history of Iranian censorship.
